Clacton International
The Keisen junior and youth squad was in action at Clacton
Leisure Centre competeing in the annual Clacton International
Championships on Sunday 18th October.
Regular competition players, Jess Plumtree, Elizabeth
Draper and James Draper were joined by Joanna Braim, returning
to competition after a long a break. Elizabeth made a superb
return to form by claiming gold in the junior -52kg group
with some superb ippon judo.
Jess seized a bronze medal in the -57kg juniors and but
for a slip up in her pool could easily have made the final.
Also unlucky not to be in the medals, was James Draper,
fighting in the young mens -60kg group, he slipped up in
the bronze medal final after a long period of domination
and had to settle for 5th place. Joanna did not place this
time but fought extremely well and is now beginning to settle
back into competitive judo.
