Hampshire Split Grade Open
The Hampshire Split grade event has to go down as one of
the most outstanding club performances of 2009. This highly
competitive competition groups players by grade, with the
following players representing the club:-
Sophie Cummings -57kg Orange & Green Belt Juniors
Elizabeth Draper -52kg Blue & Brown Belt Juniors
James Draper -60kg Brown and Black Belt Men
Adam Kohner -81kg Green & Blue Belt Men
Sophie Cummings proved that hard work does produce results
by turning in her first gold win at this level. Sophie has
been working very hard at her contest technique and tactics
and this certainly paid off with a great performance.
Elizabeth Draper picked up where she left off in Clacton
with three superb ippon wins and another gold medal. James
Draper fighting in the mens brown and black belt category
won a deserved silver, missing out on gold in a hard fought
contest against another fellow national level player.
Adam Kohner, representing Keisen in his debut event hit
a high point with another gold medal. Adam was on blistering
form with three ippon wins and a decisve performance.
Overall Keisen players achieved 9 wins from 12 contests
and produced three gold and one silver medal.
